Federal government alleges Jensen Beach company owes more than $460,000

Late 04

MIAMI – A Jensen Beach limited liability company is alleged to have defaulted on a federal loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Small Business Administration, filed a complaint on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against O'Connor Enterprises of South Florida Inc., Michael D. O'Connor and Cindy L. O'Connor alleging that they are in default of the terms of the promissory note and corresponding loan agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 15, 2005, the U.S. Small Business Administration provided a loan to defendants in the principal amount of $356,100. To date, the balance of $465,567.55, including additional interest, charges and fees, allegedly remains due and owing. The plaintiff holds O'Connor Enterprises of South Florida Inc., Michael D. O'Connor and Cindy L. O'Connor responsible because the defendants allegedly failed and continue to fail to pay their outstanding debt.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and severally, for the amount of $465,567.55, plus costs and post-judgment interest and any such other relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by Benjamin G. Greenberg and Annika M. Miranda of U.S. Department of Justice in Miami.
