MIAMI — A consumer is suing Maury Cobb Attorney at Law LLC, based in Alabama, citing alleged deceptive and misleading debt collection practices.

Ash-lynn Singleton of Opa Locka filed a complaint on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida alleging that the attorney, acting as a debt collector, violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, as a result of the defendant's unlawful conduct, plaintiff has been damaged. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because he allegedly failed to personally review plaintiff’s alleged debt account before signing and sending a collection letter.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, attorney fees and costs and such other and further relief as the court may deem just. She is represented by Michael Jay Ringelheim of RC Law Group PLLC in Hackensack, New Jersey.
