MIAMI — A disabled person is suing Goldfinger's South Inc. d/b/a Showgirls Inc. and Rayan Corporation Inc. for alleged disability discrimination.
Renzo Barberi filed a lawsuit on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida alleging that the defendants violated Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he visited the defendants' Showgirls facility and experienced difficulties because the parking facilities were purportedly not ADA-compliant. As a result of defendants discriminatory practices, he suffered and continues to suffer damages, including but not limited to humiliation, embarrassment and inconvenience. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing and refusing to provide disabled people with full, safe and equal access to their facility.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order requiring the defendants to alter the facility to make it accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities, as well as attorney's fees, costs, expenses and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Ronald E. Stern of The Advocacy Law Firm PA in Hallandale Beach.
