MIAMI — An employee is suing Forever Propane Sales & Service Inc. and Manuel C. Rosado for alleged violation of workers compensation acts.
Gabriel Romero filed a lawsuit on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida alleging that the defendants violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he regularly worked over 40 hours in one or more work weeks during his employment with the defendants. He claims that he was not paid those wages as required by the FLSA. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to maintain accurate time and pay records and pay his overtime hours at the of the rate of 1.5 times his regular hourly rate.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, costs, expenses, reasonable attorney’s fees and such further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Roderick V. Hannah of Roderick V. Hannah PA in Plantation.
