Couple seeks millions alleging negligence caused husband's injuries on Carnival water slide

Cruise 08

MIAMI – A couple is seeking $5 million in damages after the husband was allegedly injured on a water slide on a cruise ship.

Kieran Michael Gulas and Cecilia Gulas filed a complaint on March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 23, 2016, Kieran Michael Gulas was injured during the collision with another passenger inside the AquaLoop Waterslide. The plaintiffs hold NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to adopt and implement sufficient safe guards for the operation of the slide.

Plaintiff Cecilia Gulas alleges she suffered loss of love and affection of her husband because of his injuries.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in excess of $5 million. They are represented by Brett Rivkind of Rivkind & Margulies PA in Miami.
