ORLANDO – A former video and marketing production assistant for an Orlando company alleges he was not paid a minimum wage.
Jonathan Silva filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida Orlando Division against Nona Digital Inc. and owners David D. Pavlik and Moses Virella alleging that they violated the Fair and Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between July 1, 2016 and Sept. 16, 2016, he was employed as a video and marketing production assistant and recorded, edited and uploaded commercials to various sites. Silva claims that he regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay him minimum wage and overtime compensation at the appropriate legal rate for all hours of work performed and failed to maintain adequate time and pay records describing the wages, hours and working conditions of employees.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for unpaid overtime compensation plus interest, attorneys' fees, costs and any other legal and equitable relief as the court may deem appropriate. He is represented by N. Ryan Labar and Scott C. Adams of Labar and Adams, PA in Orlando.
