TAMPA – A Dade City consumer claims an Alabama debt collector has the wrong number.

Vina Hanna filed a complaint on March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Maury Cobb, Attorney at Law LLC and Does 1-10 citing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in November 2016, the defendant contacted him in an attempt to collect a debt from an unknown party. The plaintiff holds Maury Cobb, Attorney at Law LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly caused a telephone to ring repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, harass or abuse the plaintiff, unlawfully utilized an automatic dialer and automated voice, and contacted plaintiff without prior express consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants; actual, punitive and statutory damages; costs of litigation; attorney's fees; and further relief as may be just. She is represented by Stan Michael Maslona of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
