Law money 10

WEST PALM BEACH – A West Palm Beach commercial contracting company is alleged to have not paid a driver for overtime work.

Robert Brewster, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated filed a complaint on March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Campany Roof Maintenance Roofing Division LLC and Edward Campany alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he began his employment with the defendant in 2010 and regularly works more than 65 hours per week. The plaintiff holds Campany Roof Maintenance Roofing Division LLC and Campany responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain proper time records and failed to pay overtime compensation at the rate of time-and-one-half of his regular rate for every hour worked in excess of 40 per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief as the court deems just and equitable. He is represented by Charles D. Thomas of Thompson & Thomas PA in West Palm Beach.
