Prudential Insurance Co. alleged to have wrongfully denied man's claim for disability benefits

TAMPA – A man alleges his claim for long-term disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

John Edwards filed a complaint on March 24 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against The Prudential Insurance Co. of America alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied by the defendant. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Co. of America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to comply with its own internal rules.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant, declaratory relief, interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief as the court may deem just. He is represented by William S. Coffman of Coffman Law in Tampa.
