MIAMI – A poker dealer alleges a casino failed to pay her a minimum wage during her employment.

Marites Faeldonea, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against PPI Inc., doing business as Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park and also known as The Isle Casino and Racing at Pompano Park, alleging the former employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between February 2014 and April 2015, she worked for the defendant. The plaintiff holds PPI Inc., doing business as Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park and also known as The Isle Casino and Racing at Pompano Park responsible because the defendants allegedly willfully refused to properly compensate her at the minimum wage and failed to comply with the tip-credit requirements under the FLSA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for all damages and relief under the FLSA, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses and all other relief this court deems just and proper. She is represented by Christopher J. Whitelock of Whitelock & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
