ORLANDO — An individual is suing Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc. d/b/a Florida Blue for violating telephone harassment rules after the company allegedly called the plaintiff multiple times with an auto-dialer.

Christopher Ondo filed a lawsuit on March 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida alleging that the insurance firm called his cellular telephone several times.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages in 2016 from receiving several unwanted calls. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly using an automatic telephone dialing system to call the plaintiff and leave voicemail messages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $2,000 in statutory damages, injunctive relief, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Shireen Hormozdi of Hormozdi Law Firm LLC in Norcross, Ga.
