The River Ranch Bar & Grille accused of wage law violations

Law money 05

ORLANDO – A Citrus County restaurant is accused of failing to pay employees a minimum hourly rate and other wage law violations.

Acting Secretary of Labor for the U.S. Department of Labor Edward C. Hugler filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against The River Ranch Bar & Grille LLC and Ryan W. Blakeslee alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, since April 28, 2015, defendants repeatedly violated the provisions of the provisions of 7 and 15(a)(2) of the Act. The plaintiff holds The River Ranch Bar & Grille LLC and Blakeslee responsible because the defendants allegedly employed employees for workweeks longer than 40 hours per week without compensating them for their employment in excess of 40 hours at rates not less than one-and-one-half times the regular rates and failed to pay a minimum wage.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order permanently enjoining defendants, award back wages for a period of two years prior to the commencement of this action and liquidated damages to employees and such other and further relief. He is represented by Nicholis C. Geale, Stanley E. Keen and Robert L. Walter of Office of the Solicitor U.S. Department of Labor in Atlanta, Georgia.
