Carnival passenger alleges he slipped on ship, injured wrist

Cruise 02

MIAMI – A Texas man alleges a slippery substance caused him to fall on a Carnival ship.

William Gianopulos filed a complaint on March 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 14, 2016, while on board defendant's Carnival Magic vessel for a vacation cruise, he slipped on grease or some other slippery substance on the ground near a burger restaurant, which severely injured his wrist. He alleges the incident resulted in bodily injury, pain and suffering, medical expenses, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, lost earnings and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect and maintain premises in a safe condition for all passengers and created a hazardous condition to its passengers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, damages, interest, court costs, and any and all such other relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Marcus R. Spagnoletti of Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston.
