MIAMI – An Indiana woman alleges she required emergency surgery after injuring her ankle on a cruise ship.
Staci Williams filed a complaint on March 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Carnival Corp., doing business as Carnival Cruise Lines, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in March 21, 2016, she suffered physical injuries when she slipped and fell due to an uneven and slippery condition of the stairs while aboard the Carnival Freedom. She alleges the incident caused her to fracture her ankle and that she required emergency surgery. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the hazardous condition of the stairs.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Alexander J. Perkins of Perkins Law Offices P.A. in Miami.
