FORT PIERCE – A man employed by an Okeechobee County business alleges he is owed unpaid wages.

Robert E. Brannigan Jr. filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Pierce Division against Echols Plumbing & Air Conditioning LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was not properly compensated while working for the defendant. The plaintiff holds Echols Plumbing & Air Conditioning LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly apprise its employees of their rights under the FLSA, failed to keep or provide an accurate record of its employees' hours worked, failed to compensate him for time spent on call and for traveling to job sites, and failed to compensate plaintiff of his proper minimum and overtime wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, unpaid minimum wages, back wages due and owing, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs, interest, declaratory relief, and further relief the court deems just. He is represented by Frank M. Malatesta of Malatesta Law Office in Venice.
