FORT LAUDERDALE – A Royal Caribbean passenger alleges she was injured when the bed she was sitting on broke.
Brenda Martin filed a complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 25, 2016, she suffered body injuries on the defendant's Freedom of the Seas ship when the bed she was sitting on broke, causing her to fall. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff about the possible defect of the bed rail inside her cabin and failed to maintain the bed and/or railing.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, medical expenses, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Spencer Aronfeld, Lovecia A. Holmes, Matthias M. Hayashi and Jonathan D. Carvajal of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
