Officer manager alleges Nitro Green did not pay overtime wages

ORLANDO – A Volusia County landscaping company is alleged to have not paid overtime wages.

Brandy Shaffer filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on Feb. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Nitro Green Inc. and Clinton M. Woods alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was employed by the defendant as an office manager and bookkeeper. The plaintiff holds Nitro Green Inc. and Woods responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Jay P. Lechner and Jason M. Melton of Whittel & Melton LLC in St. Petersburg.
