JACKSONVILLE – A Duval County resident alleges her claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.
Mary Ducksworth filed a complaint on March 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville against Unum Life Insurance Co. of America alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in August 2016, she became disabled and sustained damages from having her long-term disability benefits denied by the defendant.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for benefits due and owing, and court costs. She is represented by Thomas M. Farrell IV of Farrell Disability Law in Jacksonville.
