Law money 05

JACKSONVILLE – A St. Augustine man alleges he was terminated in retaliation for filing a complaint about not receiving a paycheck in a timely manner.

Ryan R. Turner filed a complaint on March 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Home Pro Complete Services LLC and Charles R. Lance citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was employed by the defendants from August 2016 to his termination in December 2016. He also claims he routinely worked more than 40 hours per week. The plaintiff holds Home Pro Complete Services LLC and Lance responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay minimum and overtime wages to the plaintiff and terminated his employment in retaliation for filing a complaint with the Department of Labor for not receiving a paycheck on time.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks lost wages, liquidated damages, statutory damages, actual damages, interest, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Frank M. Malatesta of Malatesta Law Office in Venice.
