Phone 05

JACKSONVILLE – A Flagler County individual claims a debt collector called him more than 100 times after he requested that it stop calling him.

David Douglas filed a complaint on March 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Barclays Bank Delaware alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in 2016, he suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant. The plaintiff holds Barclays Bank Delaware responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite his request to stop calling in May 2016.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Jared M. Lee of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa P.A. in Orlando.
