Woman seeks reinstatement of benefits from Aetna Life Insurance Co.

TAMPA – A woman alleges she is entitled to receive disability benefits.

Colleen Calleia filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida against Aetna Life Insurance Co. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from having her disability benefits denied. The plaintiff holds Aetna Life Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly upheld its decision to deny plaintiff's disability benefit despite being disabled according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks reinstatement, declaration of her rights to future benefits, interest and all legal fees. She is represented by Paul S. Kimsey of Kimsey Law Firm PA in Tampa.
