FORT LAUDERDALE – A cashier/ticket seller alleges her South Florida employer did not pay her for an average of two overtime hours a week.
Diana Morales filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Costamar Travel Cruise & Tours Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from working more than 40 hours per week without getting paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Costamar Travel Cruise & Tours Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation to the plaintiff at the legal rate of one-and-one-half times her regular rate.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Elliot Kozolchyk of Koz Law PA in Fort Lauderdale.
