Woman alleges she was injured in auto accident, insurer refused to pay benefits

Insurance 01

TAMPA – A Hudson motorist alleges her insurer has refused to pay benefits after a vehicle collision.

Amanda Parker filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the 13th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Hillsborough County against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. alleging breach of policy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, 2016, she sustained significant injuries and incurred medical expenses, as a result of an accident caused by an underinsured individual in Tampa. She alleges she has three policies through the defendant but that it refused to pay benefits.

The plaintiff holds State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay insurance benefits to plaintiff, failed to provide a prompt and reasonable explanation of the basis for the denial of plaintiff’s claims, and failed to properly and adequately investigate the merits of plaintiff’s claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor, compensatory damages of more than $15,000, and costs of proceedings. She is represented by Michael F. Hancock of Hancock Injury Attorneys in Tampa.
