Former gas station clerk alleges she was not paid overtime during employment

Law money 06

FORT LAUDERDALE –  A Sebastian gas station and convenience store is alleged to have not paid a former clerk/cashier overtime wages.

Christine O'Shea filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Meryem Inc., doing business as Babcock Mobil and Wabasso Chevron, and Kurdet Turkmen, also known as Kudret Turkmen, citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation during her employment with the defendants from July to November 2016. The plaintiff holds Meryem Inc., doing business as Babcock Mobil and Wabasso Chevron, and Turkmen responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premiums at a rate of time-and-one-half for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Peter Bober and Samara Bober of Bober & Bober PA in Hollywood.
