R. Lewis Paints claims Benjamin Moore & Co. interfered with contract

Contract 03

NAPLES – A Collier County business alleges it lost a contract because of the actions of another business.

R. Lewis Paints Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 11 in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Collier County against Benjamin Moore & Co. alleging tortious interference of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Edward Burnham met with representatives of the defendant to discuss purchasing the plaintiff's business. The suit states the defendant told Burnham not to purchase the business, and that this alleged interference prevented a contract between the plaintiff and B&B Properties of Naples from closing.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $415,000 plus any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by John F. Hooley of The Law Offices of John F. Hooley P.A. in Naples.
