Former Bay Bays Chicken & Waffles LLC employee alleges he was not paid overtime wages

MIAMI – A Palm Beach County man alleges his former restaurant employer did not pay him overtime.

Lorenzo William Johnson Jr. filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Jan. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Bay Bays Chicken & Waffles LLC, Bay Bays Chicken and Waffles Number Two LLC and Israel G. Johnson citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked an average of 68 to 71 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The suit states he worked for the defendants from November 2015 to December 2016. The plaintiff holds Bay Bays Chicken & Waffles LLC, Bay Bays Chicken and Waffles Number Two LLC and Johnson responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium for working more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, overtime premium owing to the  plaintiff, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
