PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Port St. Lucie was a natural expansion location for Apfelbaum Law, the firm's managing attorney said in a recent interview.
"We decided to expand to Port St. Lucie to better serve our clients and demands in Port St. Lucie, as well as for professional growth based on opportunities presented," managing attorney Nico Apfelbaum told The Florida Record in an email interview.
Apfelbaum's new law office in Port St. Lucie was announced in a press release issued Dec. 27. The office is located at 1922 SE Port St. Lucie Blvd, according to the firm's website.

"We only had an office in Stuart, but serve clients in the Treasure Coast and Palm Beach," he said. "We added an office in Port St. Lucie to better serve our clients and demands based on location and convenience."
Having been providing legal services in the Treasure Coast, Palm Beach County and throughout the state, Apfelbaum Law was founded by Argentine native Nico Apfelbaum, who is fluent in both Spanish and English. The firm's first office was opened in Stuart, with areas of practice that include business disputes, transactions and planning, contract drafting and negotiations, contract disputes, divorce, family law, wills, trusts and estates, probate, immigration and real estate.
"Over the past year, we have added more attorneys to better serve our growing list of clients," Apfelbaum said in the press release. "Also, we recently translated our website into Spanish and Portuguese to reach out better to our Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking clients seeking legal representation.”
Apfelbaum has seven years of experience in the legal profession since earning both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Florida. For a time, Apfelbaum practiced at a large firm with a practice that concentrated on collections, creditors’ rights, business and UCC litigation.
"Throughout his legal career, Nico has valued his community and roots by being constantly involved and assuming leadership roles in a number of local, Hispanic and international organizations," the firm's website says.
Another attorney in Apfelbaum Law is Andrew W. Clopman.
Clopman studied at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. After graduating, Clopman worked for several years as a newspaper reporter and freelance journalist in northern New York and Montreal before attending Vermont Law School.
As a law clerk, Clopman worked on immigration cases and represented abused children in Vermont courts before he moved to Florida's Treasure Coast in 2009. He has been in practice in Florida ever since.
Apfelbaum Law also has a Florida family law attorney, Sara Davis, to provide legal services to clients in family and divorce law, including child custody, paternity and enforcement. According to her profile page on the firm's website, she graduated cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law in 2008, the same year she began work at the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, which focused on Martin County in Florida. She also has worked in the 19th Judicial Circuit and at a small firm.
