GEICO General Insurance seeks damages of $30,000 after I-4 collision

ORLANDO – An insurance company is seeking damages after two individuals were injured in an accident with an uninsured/underinsured motorist.

GEICO General Insurance Co., as subrogree of Ladarrius Sanders and Amanda Hicks, filed a complaint on Dec. 30 in 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against the Tiffanie King, David Thomas and Mundegerick Mitchum alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 20, 2015, Sanders and Hicks were riding a motorcycle along Interstate 4 in Orange County, when a motor vehicle owned by and Thomas and driven with by Mitchum collided with the insureds. The plaintiff alleges the incident caused Sanders and Hicks to suffer injuries to their bodies and extremities, experienced pain and suffering, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds King, Thomas and Mitchum responsible because Mitchum allegedly negligently and carelessly operated a motor vehicle. The plaintiff alleges it has paid $30,000 to its insureds for uninsured/underinsured motorist benefits.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages in the amount of $30,000 and costs of action. They are represented by Gary S. Rabin of GrayRobinson PA in Lakeland.
