Consumer claims Ally Financial harassed him with frequent calls

Phone 09

JACKSONVILLE – A Crescent City consumer claims he was harassed by a debt collector's numerous calls.

Eugene Patterson filed a complaint on Dec. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division against Ally Financial Inc. citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. The plaintiff holds Ally Financial Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call the plaintiff and continued to call after he revoked his consent in February 2015.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, actual damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Shaughn C. Hill of Morgan & Morgan, Tampa PA in Tampa.
