Man claims Charlotte Circle K's doors caused fall, injuries

PUNTA GORDA – A shopper at a Charlotte convenience store claims the store's doors caused him to slip and fall.

Herbert Miller filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court of Charlotte County against Circle K Stores Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 4, 2014, he sustained physical injuries as the result of slipping and falling on the maintenance of the store's automatic doors. The plaintiff holds Circle K Stores Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning regarding the hazardous condition of its automatic doors.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount of more than $15,000 plus interest and all legal fees. He is represented by Peter W. Kamm of Morgan & Morgan in Fort Myers.
