FORT MYERS – A Lee County man alleges he was injured in a Target store because of a liquid on the floor.

Pedro Jose Valverde and Lidia Valverde filed a complaint on Dec. 27 in the 20th Judicial Circuit Court - Lee County against Target Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Aug. 18, 2014, Pedro Jose Valverde suffered physical injuries when he slipped and fell due to a slippery substance that was left on the floor of a Fort Myers Target store. The plaintiffs hold Target Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to place adequate warning signs regarding the hazardous condition of its premises. Lidia Valverde alleges a loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages of more than $15,000 plus all legal fees. They are represented by Michael S. Davis of Boone & Davis PA in Fort Lauderdale.
