CANVS Corp. claims night vision devices infringe patent

Patents 01

MIAMI – A Coral Gables company alleges four companies have infringed its patent with their night vision goggles.

CANVS Corp. filed a complaint on Dec. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Harris Corp., Exelis Inc., ITT Corp., ITT Defense Electronics and Exelis Inc. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its '652 patent, titled Low Light Imaging Device, infringed. The plaintiff holds Harris Corp., Exelis Inc., ITT Corp., ITT Defense Electronics and Exelis Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly offered for sale night vision devices that infringe at least one claim of plaintiff's patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, actual damages, reasonable royalties, profits, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Anthony M. Lawhon of Anthony M. Lawhon, PA in Naples.
