The plaintiff alleges that GHD Construction Services, which designed and constructed his home located at 1211 Bay Shore Blvd., Indian Rocks Beach, FL 33785, delivered work that was materially and substantially defective. The damages cited exceed $50,000 and include inconsistencies between physical construction and the Florida Building Code (FBC), manufacturer’s installation instructions, common building practices; improper installation of underlayment; missing flashing at balcony to wall connection; moisture intrusion causing damage to subflooring, drip edge flashing around balconies' perimeter, lighting on first floor porch; unevenly installed tiles on all balconies.

Garman is seeking judgment for the damages caused by these alleged defects in construction and design. He asserts that GHD violated the FBC and section 558.002 of the Florida Statutes by allowing inadequate and improper installation of various components of his residence.
