A former employee has accused Allied Universal Corp. of sex discrimination.

Denise Ives filed her federal lawsuit against the company alleging she was subjected to sex discrimination and wrongful termination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 during her employment with the company.

Ives claims she worked in a "boys club" atmosphere where sex discrimination was encouraged, rewarded and protected. She says male officers downplayed any wrongdoing of other male officers and female officers were encouraged to go along with overt sexual behavior.

Ives recounts multiple instances of inappropriate behavior from one of her captains, including sexual innuendo and propositions. She also says that when she made an official complaint about receiving threatening text messages, the investigation was quickly dropped and nothing was done about the threats.
