Man struck while waiting at red light in Punta Gorda seeks damages over alleged injuries

Car accident 36

CLEARWATER – A Bradenton resident claims that he was injured when he was struck by a Pinellas County driver while waiting at a red light.

Norberto Murillo filed a complaint on May 16 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Luis Rodriguez Gonzales and S&D Exports LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 14, 2014, he was stopped at a red light near the Interstate 75 exit ramp in Punta Gorda when Gonzales, driving a vehicle owned by S&D Exports, struck his vehicle. The plaintiff alleges he suffered physical and mental pain, disability, medical expenses and loss wages.

The plaintiff holds Gonzales and S&D Exports LLC responsible because Gonzales allegedly followed plaintiff's vehicle too closely and failed to timely stop to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000, post-judgment interest, attorney's fees and costs of these proceedings. He is represented by TJ Grimaldi and Marc Matthews of McIntyre Thanasides Bringgold Elliott Grimaldi & Guito PA in Tampa.
