CLEARWATER – A Pinellas Park woman alleges she tripped in a parking lot at a shopping plaza in the city because of improper illumination.

Mary Rotanelli filed a complaint on May 1 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Pinellas Park LLC alleging that the shopping plaza operator failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 28, 2016, she was going to Kozy Korner Restaurant located at defendant's Pinellas Park Square and while walking at the parking lot, she tripped over a curb. She alleges she sustained significant injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Pinellas Park LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide sufficient lighting in the area and to warn its guests of the dangers when using the parking lot.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $15,000 and all other issues triable. She is represented by Jeffrey K. Chambers of Chambers Law Group PA in St. Petersburg.
