FORT LAUDERDALE – A Broward County employer is alleged to have not paid a Miami-Dade County man for overtime work.
Cook filed a complaint on behalf of himself and others similarly
situated on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern
District of Florida against ASAP Courier & Logistics LLC, doing
business as Need It Now Courier, alleging violation of the Fair Labor
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege
that he was a van driver for the defendant and was employed by the
defendant from August 2014 to August 2015 and January to March 2017. The
plaintiffs hold ASAP Courier & Logistics LLC responsible because
the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff the required overtime
rate of time-and-one-half of his regular wages.
plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant,
compensatory and liquidated damages, attorney’s fees and costs,
interest, and other relief which the court deems reasonable. He is
