ORLANDO – A woman alleges she has been damaged because of inaccurate reporting on her credit report.

Aisha Johnson (Howard) filed a complaint on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Acceptance Rentals Inc. and Equifax Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Acceptance incorrectly reported that the plaintiff has two derogatory accounts, with same debt balance amount, same loan type and same individual account. She alleges she only has one account with Acceptance.

The plaintiff holds Acceptance Rentals Inc. and Equifax Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to correct the inaccurate reporting of the account and failed to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation to the detriment of plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants, actual and punitive damages, costs of action, attorney's fees, and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Devan E. Michael of McCarthy Law PLC in Scottsdale, Arizona.
