ORLANDO – A legal services provider alleges a former attorney it hired as an independent contractor breached his contract and did not repay a bonus.
Diez-Arguelles & Tejedor PA filed a complaint on Dec. 30 in
9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County
against Alec Larkin Weber alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 8, 2016, it and the defendant entered into a written independent contractor agreement which stated that defendant is required to provide 30 days' notice upon tendering resignation and repay monetary bonuses awarded if the defendant did not continue his employment one year after receiving the bonus. The defendant allegedly resigned on Dec. 19, 2016, and no longer showed up for work or returned any part of the bonus given, which caused plaintiff to suffer monetary damages.
The plaintiff holds Weber responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to fulfill his obligations under the agreement, and caused plaintiff to expend resources for his training and bonuses.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for all compensable damages allowed by law. It is represented by Maria D. Tejedor of Diez-Arguelles & Tejedor in Orlando.
