MIAMI — A Pennsylvania woman is suing a cruise ship company for alleged negligence in a slip-and-fall.

Lydia Cordova sued Carnival Corporation on March 7 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division, citing alleged failure to warn and negligence.

The plaintiff alleges that, on April 14, 2015, she was severely injured when she slipped and fell on a wet, slippery flooring on the Lido Deck of the ship Carnival Liberty. The plaintiff holds Carnival Corporation responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the subject area in a clean and dry condition, failed to place warning signs on or around the wet and slippery areas, failed to warn passengers of the risks and dangers of the wet and slippery condition of the subject deck and failed to install non-slip or non-skid flooring surface on or around the subject area.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for all damages recoverable under the law. She is represented by Jason R. Margulies and Jacqueline Garcell of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman, P.A. in Miami.
