Microphone2 1000x667

Holland & Knight LLP recently issued the following announcement.

Date: September 14, 2021

Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM ET

Location: Webinar

Details:

Please join Holland & Knight, in cooperation with the Council of New York Cooperatives & Condominiums (CNYC), for a discussion of actions to be taken following the Surfside, Florida, condo collapse and its implications for New York condominiums and cooperatives.

Holland & Knight Partner Stuart Saft, leader of the firm's New York Real Estate Practice Group, co-chair of its global Condominium Development and Conversion Team and CNYC chair, will be joined by fellow CNYC board members Michael Wolfe, chair of the Real Estate Board of New York's Residential Management Council, and Peter Varsalona, the architect engineer behind Habitat magazine's "Ask the Engineer" column.

The speakers will separate fact from hearsay as they comment on the recent disaster and its potential effect on New York structures, including how to identify the portions of buildings that need to be examined and repaired or replaced on a regular basis and the risk areas of pre-war, post-war and modern glass and steel buildings. The presentation will also cover specific legislation that has been drafted to mitigate future risk.

Speakers:

Stuart Saft | Partner, Holland & Knight

Michael Wolfe | President, Property Management, FirstService Residential

Peter Varsalona | Principal and Vice President, Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing Team Leader, RAND Engineering & Architecture
