Orlando couple alleges Liberty Mutual failed to cover hurricane damage

ORLANDO — Two Orlando property owners are suing Liberty Mutual, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Jeff Boring and Hastings Henderson filed a complaint Aug. 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Company, alleging failure to provide coverage for losses caused by a hurricane.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, the property of Boring and Henderson at 10109 Matchlock Drive, Orlando,  sustained damage during the policy period as a result of Hurricane Irma. Boring and Henderson allege they notified Liberty Mutual of the damages and received a claim with a date of loss but were denied coverage. 

The plaintiffs allege holds Liberal Mutual Fire Insurance failed or refused to fully perform under the policy and failed to fully pay for all the plaintiffs' losses as required by the insurance policy.

Boring and Henderson seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000 with interest on any overdue payments, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by attorney Roger A. Hatfield of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
