ORLANDO — An insurance customer is suing Northwestern Mutual and an agent, alleging fraudulent misrepresentation.

Cameron W. Bradford filed a complaint Aug. 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Claudio Gambin and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, alleging the defendants breached their duty to properly advise Bradford about the costs charged that would affect the value of the life insurance policy.

According to the complaint, after purchasing the policy sold by Gambin as an agent for Northwestern and paying premiums for a substantial period of time, Bradford learned the insurance policies were not a tax shelter and not an investment, as aadvised by Gambin. Instead, the suit said, the policy had high fees and costs.

Bradford said he then terminated the policies and, in so doing, limited his loss and mitigated his damages.

The plaintiff alleges Gambin and Northwestern Mutual made false representations to Bradford in order to induce Bradford to purchase a whole life insurance policy and to sell a high commission life insurance policy that would provide financial benefit to them.

Bradford seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, court costs and all other just and appropriate relief. He is represented by attorneys Alexander B. Cvercko and M. Alex Williams of Cvercko & Associates PA in Jacksonville.
