Attorney accuses Pinellas County woman of defamation

CLEARWATER — An attorney is suing a Pinellas County woman, alleging defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Gary Williams filed a complaint May 8 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Aleksandra Vangeli, alleging the defendant published a defamatory review about him.

According to the complaint, on May 3, Williams received a defamatory review on his Avvo profile. Williams says Vangeli's post is false and libelous. As a result, he says, he suffered harm to his reputation, shame, mortification and injury to his feelings.

The plaintiff alleges Vangeli made her statements with the intention of causing damage to the attorney's reputation and economic well-being and acted in willful, wanton, reckless and intentional disregard of Williams' rights.

Williams seeks trial by jury, damages of $500,000, with interest, court costs and all further relief the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney Stephen D. Gregg of The Law Firm for Family Law in Clearwater.
