ORLANDO — An Ocoee couple is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Pascale Vincent and Eder Vincent filed a complaint April 20 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Traditions Insurance Company, alleging the defendant has failed and refuses to honor its contractual obligation.

According to the complaint, in Oct. 18, 2017, the Vincents' property at 2650 Migliara Lane, Ocoee, was damaged by Hurricane Irma. The Vincents say they put in a claim for loss and damage of the property. The suit says their claim was denied, despite the Vincents fulfilling all conditions necessary to receive insurance benefits and allowing the defendant time to fully inspect the loss.

However, the lawsuit states, the plaintiffs have failed to receive due benefits. As a result of the loss, the Vincents say they have suffered economic damages and substantial hardship.

The plaintiffs allege American Traditions Insurance has failed or refuses to honor the contractual coverage in the policy by failing and refusing to fully compensate its clients of the correct amount of benefits owed under the policy for the claim based on the loss from the hurricane.

The Vincents seek trial by jury, general compensatory damages of at least $15,000, interest, attorney fees and court costs, plus all other relief the court deems just and appropriate. They are represented by attorneys Jeremy F. Tyler, W. Wyndham Geyer, Jr. and Andrew Fuxa of Geyer Fuxa Tyler in Sunrise.
