ORLANDO — Orlando property owners are suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.
Theresa Ann Mayberry and Karla Ann Mayberry filed a complaint April 10 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida, alleging failure to pay for a covered loss.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 9, the Mayberrys sustained damaged property and repair costs when their property at 2254 Waterleaf St., Orlando, was substantially damaged by a covered peril while the policy was in full force and effect. The suit says American Integrity has refused to pay for the losses.
The plaintiffs allege American Integrity Insurance has failed to admit full coverage for the loss and failed to pay the benefits due and owing under the policy.
The Mayberrys seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest, court costs, expert fees, attorney fees and all further relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys Matthew K. Mullinax and Dean Makris of Makris & Mullinax PA in New Port Richey.
