ORLANDO — A customer is suing Walt Disney, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Sharon Atkinson filed a complaint March 14 in Orange County Circuit Court against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US Inc., alleging the amusement park operator failed to provide a safe environment for its guests.

According to the complaint, on June 12, 2016, Atkinson was at Walt Disney's Animal Kingdom. The suit says Atkinson was injured when she fell due to a broken and defective sidewalk that was carelessly allowed by Disney to exist for a sufficient length of time.

The lawsuit states Atkinson sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US failed to properly inspect and maintain the property, and failed to warn Atkinson of the dangerous condition.

Atkinson seeks trial by jury and damages of more than $15,000. She is represented by attorney David R. Heil of Winter Park.
