ORLANDO — A landscaper is suing Orlando property owners, alleging they supplied a defective ladder, causing injuries.

Leon Dixon filed a complaint March 1 in Orange County Circuit Court against Booker Tee Tomkins Jr., and Louise Tompkins, alleging the defendants failed to to provide a safe environment to an invitee.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 3, 2017, while Dixon was completing some landscaping tasks at 4206 Claudia St. Orlando, he fell from a ladder supplied by the the defendants and suffered injuries, disfigurement, mental anguish and loss of the capacity to enjoy life.

Dixon says when the defendants supplied him the ladder to trim the tree outside of the house they failed to properly inspect the safety of the ladder.

The plaintiff alleges the Tompkinses failed to maintain the ladder in a reasonably safe condition and should have known that the ladder was unsafe for use.

Dixon seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interests and court costs. He is represented by attorney Joshua A. Andone of Hale, Hale & Jacobson PA in Orlando.
