ORLANDO — An Oldsmar property owner is suing a construction business, alleging breach of contract and fraud.
John M. Meister filed a complaint Feb. 26 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Brownlee Lee Services LLC, Lester J. Brownlee and Marilyn E. Brownlee, alleging the defendants failed to substantially perform the work specified in the contract.
According to the complaint, on July 20, 2017, Meister received a written proposal from defendants for various construction to be done on his property at 150 Pinewoods Blvd., Oldsmar. Meister says he paid $7,950 for the work to be performed and $4,239.84 for supplies and materials.
However, the suit says, the defendants failed to perform the work as specified in the contract, causing Meister to expend no less than $27,000 to fix the shoddy work and damage to the his property.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to perform in a workmanlike manner, according to applicable building codes and ordinances, and according to the standards in the industry.
Meister seeks trial by jury, judgment for unjust enrichment and disgorgement and for all monies paid, damages of more than $15,000, plus costs and prejudgment interest. He is represented by attorney Charles D. Radeline of Radeline Law Firm, PC in Palm Harbor.
