ORLANDO — A Manatee County woman is suing Wal-Mart, alleging the retail store allowed a tripping hazard on the premises of one of its stores in Orlando.

Iris Irizarry filed a complaint Feb. 26 in Orange County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores East LP, alleging the defendant failed in maintaining its premises for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 22, 2015, Irizarry was at the Wal-Mart, 8101 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando. The suit says she tripped and fell over a pallet cart that was protruding on the floor in an aisle.

As a result, Irizarry says she suffered bodily injuries, mental anguish and the expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment.

The plaintiff alleges Wal-Mart Stores East failed to maintain or adequately maintain the flooring/aisles, creating a hazardous condition to members of the public utilizing the area.

Irizarry seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Alicia Bandoli of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
